It’s snowing. It never snows in
But he walks though the park, indifferent to muggers and
everything iced and glistening and beautiful. It’s not a world he can believe
in anymore.
The others are all getting on with their lives, smiling,
laughing, ignoring the empty office and the void in the very air. He can’t
ignore it.
Then, he stops. Kneeling, he touches at the flower, poking
its head up above the snow, surviving.
Hope.
Without warning, he suddenly believes again, sudden warmth
around his heart. He’ll wait and Jack will come home.
Smiling, he returns to the Hub.
