AUTHOR’S NOTES: I bet you’re all wondering how I can write an S/D fic when Daniel didn’t appear in this episode, huh? Well, let’s say I had to improvise…oh, heck; I just plain guessed! Anyway, Rule Britannia!

“Whatcha doing?”

Sam turned, to see a tanned handsome man standing behind her.

“Daniel! When did you get back?”

Sam rose to embrace him, noting the slight wince as she squeezed a bit too hard.

“What have you done?”

He gave a shy smile and was just about to reply, when a voice came, from a few metres off.

“Wow! Who’s this stunner?”

Daniel blushed, and Sam was on the verge of attacking that stupid, stupid…

“Cadet!” And Sam couldn’t think of a reprimand; so, she settled for an introduction.

“This is Doctor Daniel Jackson.”

Sam glared sharply at the girl, a well-meaning ‘hands off!’ but she didn’t seem to notice.

Hello there, Doctor. I presume you’re not medical.”

Daniel looked down again, secretly wishing she’d stop her advances. There was only one woman for his heart.

“Um…no, I’m a…uh…Doctor of…Archaeology.”

“The past! How interesting…I’m more interested in Astrophysics.”

Daniel glanced over at Sam, took in the very-annoyed-but-trying-to-conceal-it expression and grinned to himself. Hmm…I know what’s going on here, he thought, Oh well, better save her. Even if it means embarrassing myself…or not.

“Well, Cadet, if you’ll just leave me and my wife alone…”

Her eyes widened and she began to stutter.

“Oh…oh…uh…I had no idea, sir.”

“Obviously,” he replied.

She quickly backed out of the room, getting more and more flushed.

Sam turned slowly to Daniel.

“Well, that was…uh…thank you.”

“You’re welcome, Sam.”

Daniel winked at her and was just about to leave, when he turned round.

“Um…don’t s’pose you’re free for dinner?”

Sam smiled, and gave a mock curtsey.

“Very free, my husband.”

Daniel laughed, and walked out of the door.

“See you at seven then!” he called back.

Sam sat down in her chair and sighed, completely unaware of the security camera homing in on her position.

Up in the Security Room, Janet sat back in her chair and laughed.

“Gotcha,” she said.
