TITLE: It should be raining but it isn’t.

AUTHOR: Demon Faith

PAIRING: Sam/Will

NOTES: For Jeanine first line challenge.

It should be raining, but it isn’t.

He remembers charming weather before, bringing down a storm for a dead Democrat and a man he’d just met who called him Sancho. He wants it to rain now, feels there should be rain for this most important, definitely bittersweet moment of his life.

Today he says goodbye to California forever.

He still had a house while Sam needed it, but neither of them want to see California 47th for quite some time. His work is in Washington now, and his life is by his side, staring at the same ocean he is but seeing something completely different. Because Sam doesn’t see the beautiful blue of his lover’s eyes, calm in quiet seriousness or turbulent in passion, but Will does.

Yes, Will does, and he realises that California doesn’t really matter anyway.

He has everything he needs.
